Shifting from Inside-Out Fundraising to Outside-In Fundraising
Shifting from Inside-Out Fundraising to Outside-In Fundraising
When raising money, many colleges identify their needs, and then develop a case for support to raise the funding to meet those needs. That’s an inside-out approach. While that will certainly raise money, an outside-in approach will raise more money. Colleges that embrace an outside-in approach first identify the community’s and their employers' needs, and then develop strategies to address those community needs. The money then follows.
Scholarships will continue be important to donors, but with 400,000 job openings across North Carolina, raising money for scholarships isn’t enough. This session will explore other strategies that benefit students, employers, and their communities - and raise more money while doing so.
